Baños, a beautiful city which is located at the end of the Andean Region and at the beginning of the Amazon forest. This gives us a micro climate, which means that it changes a lot but also means that you will always find green mountains all around you. The city at the foot of the Tungurahua volcano is located at 1826 meters high.
From September until March we have a lot of sunny days with temperatures from 18-30 degrees Celsius. In April and May we have a lot of mixed temperatures, with rainy and sunny days and temperatures from 15-25 degrees Celsius. From June until August the weather is a bit colder, we have lots of rainy days and the temperatures are from 14-20 degrees Celsius. However, some days you can find the sun shining all day in these months! August is our transition month, with mixed temperatures from 15-25 degrees Celsius and lots of sunny, rainy, cloudy and windy days.
The weather here is not too cold nor too hot. This makes it perfect to enjoy the outdoors.
On sunny days you can hike, bike, go horseback riding or enjoy one of our extreme sports like canyoning, rafting, paragliding, ziplining and swing jumping. Do not worry about the rainy days, as you can still enjoy canyoning, rafting, swing jumping, ziplining and many more activities with us. Or if you would like you can reschedule them for another day. Besides, in Baños you can enjoy so many other activities. You can go take a swim in Luna Runtun, relax in our thermal baths, enjoy a massage or take a bus and visit El Pailon Del Diablo which will be huge because of all the rain!
One tip, don’t use any weather forecast! Many show inaccurate information, because our antennas are up in the mountains, where it is a lot colder than in the city itself. It never freezes as some apps show and we never have snow!
